School Crossing Guards

The Town of Trophy Club has provided School Crossing Guards since the 2011-2012 School Year.

Crossing Guard -D1X_0060_May 09, 2019We determined that there was a significant need for this service and trained and staffed these positions in order to address this need. Crossing Guards are assigned to crosswalks where our school children cross our busiest streets. School Crossing Guards are equipped with signs and identifying clothing and motorists are required to obey the Crossing Guards like they would obey a peace officer. Remember, if a Crossing Guard is in the crosswalk, you are required to stop whether children are present or not.

The School Crossing Guard Program is an integral element of the support services provided by the Trophy Club Police Department.  They are dedicated to providing safe bicycle and pedestrian routes to and from school, for elementary, middle and high school-aged children. Trophy Club is accepting applications now to add these important positions to our team.

About the Program

The Trophy Club Crossing Guard -D1X_0106_May 09, 2019Police Department’s School Crossing Guard Program currently has six crossing guards covering posts at four schools throughout the Town. These dedicated individuals work in inclement and extreme weather to make sure children are safe.  They work for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. There is no experience necessary to become a school crossing guard, as they will be trained to the State of Texas Standards upon being hired. All safety equipment is provided at no cost to them.
